If you run a Magento 2 store and manage your stock in SeniorERP, without an integration you do the work twice: once on the site and once in the ERP. At 30 orders a day, every hour lost to manual copying costs you money and customers.
The Magento - SeniorERP integration removes this double work: products, stock, prices, orders and invoices flow automatically between the two systems, in real time. For you, that means fewer errors, zero overselling, real-time financial visibility and an online store that scales without doubling your operations team.
What is Magento 2 integration with SeniorERP
Magento 2 integration with SeniorERP is a two-way, automatic, real-time connection between and SeniorERP, the Romanian ERP system. The two platforms stay in sync at all times through a module (connector) installed in Magento, which communicates with SeniorERP via API. Data flows in both directions: products, stock and prices come from the ERP to the site, while orders, new customers and returns go from the site to the ERP.
There is an important difference between integration and import/export. Importing or exporting means CSV files processed by hand or scripts run on demand: a one-off transfer, with steps carried out by a person. Integration, on the other hand, is a continuous flow. Nobody presses a button and the systems talk to each other on their own, every few minutes or even instantly, event by event. It is the difference between digging a well and having running water piped into your home.
In practice, for a non-technical manager: when a customer places an order in your Magento 2 online store, it reaches SeniorERP automatically in less than a minute, the stock goes down on the site and the logistics department already sees it ready for processing. You no longer have to touch anything.
Why you need a Magento - SeniorERP integration
In our experience, businesses turn to integration once manual work has gone past the point where it is still profitable. If you recognise yourself in several of the situations below, you need an integration:
- You process more than 30 orders a day and your team copies every order from Magento into SeniorERP by hand, or every new product from the ERP onto the site.
- The stock shown on the site does not match the real stock in the warehouse (overselling), and you end up calling customers to tell them the product they ordered is no longer available.
- Operators lose hours every day on price updates, new product imports or catalogue changes.
- You launch promotions that show up late on the site, with the wrong prices or applied to a different product than you intended.
- You have several sales channels (Magento site, eMAG, physical store, telesales) and each one has its own data source, with no single version of the truth.
- You want to scale from 100 to 1000 orders a day without doubling your operations team.
- You lose financial visibility because the data is only centralised at the end of the month.
How Magento 2 integration with SeniorERP works
The integration is not a simple periodic export. It is middleware that orchestrates the data exchange through a REST API with token-based authentication, controlled by a dedicated connector developed by LEADLION and installed as a native Magento 2 module (PHP 8.3).
The typical order flow
1) The customer places the order in the Magento 2 store.
2) The LEADLION module captures the event and prepares the payload.
3) The connector sends the data to SeniorERP via API.
4) SeniorERP confirms receipt and links the order to the customer record, or creates a new customer.
5) The order status syncs back to Magento and the stock is updated on the site automatically.
For products and stock, the flow runs the other way: the data is read from SeniorERP through configurable views per warehouse and sent to at set intervals (daily, hourly or near real time, depending on the store's volume).
Dedicated LEADLION connector
A Magento 2 module configured from the admin: multi-store, multi-warehouse, two independent environments (pre-production / production). Unlike generic third-party connectors, it is developed and tested in-house and is easy to customise: VAT rates, customer code mapping for individuals and companies (PF/PJ), custom fields, Senior-Magento order status mapping, control of large orders above a set threshold.
REST API and security
Communication through a REST API with token-based authentication and end-to-end HTTPS encryption. Every call is logged (request, response, status, timestamp) for auditing. The solution is GDPR compliant: data travels only between Magento and SeniorERP. For retries, the module has a queue with exponential backoff, so a dropped connection never loses an order.
What data syncs between Magento 2 and SeniorERP
The LEADLION module covers the entire operational flow, organised into sync flows that you configure independently, so you can switch on only what you need and extend later.
Stock sync (multi-warehouse)
Stock syncs automatically from the SeniorERP warehouses to Magento, through dedicated views per warehouse. Magento Multi-Source Inventory (MSI) is supported, with automatic reservation. The frequency is configurable (daily, hourly or custom) and the behaviour differs by warehouse type.
Price and promotion sync
Prices are taken from the SeniorERP price lists assigned to the online channel. The module supports the standard price and reduced prices per batch, plus tier pricing for B2B. Promotions scheduled in the ERP go live on the site at exactly the time set, with no manual intervention.
Automatic import of new products
Products flagged "online" in SeniorERP are imported into Magento automatically. They arrive disabled, ready to be documented (images, descriptions, SEO) before publishing. Attributes, categories and variants are mapped correctly, and products delisted in the ERP are disabled on the site automatically.
Automatic order transfer
The order appears in SeniorERP in under 60 seconds, with complete data: products, quantities, shipping, coupons, payment and delivery method. Configurable mapping of methods and Senior-Magento statuses, control of large orders and separate handling by product type. Cancellations are propagated in both directions.
B2C and B2B customer sync
New accounts in Magento are created automatically in SeniorERP, mapped as individuals or companies (PF / PJ). For B2B, the company details (CUI tax code, J registration number, registered office, bank account) are validated and transferred in full. The history is unified across online and telesales, and customer groups are synced so that prices are correct.
Invoicing and ANAF e-Factura
The invoice is generated in SeniorERP (the only valid fiscal source) and its number returns automatically to Magento, where the PDF is available in the customer's account. Submission to is automatic. Credit notes and fiscal returns are synced back.
Courier AWB and tracking
AWBs are generated in SeniorERP or directly in Magento, for, Sameday, DPD and. The AWB number is picked up automatically and shown in the customer's account with a tracking link. The delivery status updates in real time.
RMA returns
The customer fills in the return request in their Magento account, it is approved in SeniorERP and, once the goods are received, the credit note and refund are generated automatically. The customer can follow the status throughout. For, the same logic applies to marketplace returns.
Optional: batches with expiry dates
For perishable or short-dated products (supplements, cosmetics, food), the module includes a dedicated batch management area: admin in Magento, automatic "same product" identification by SKU pattern, a "from..." display in the PLP and a dedicated area on the product page.
Benefits of Magento 2 integration with SeniorERP
The concrete benefits, measured on our projects, grouped into four areas.
80% less processing time
The order enters the ERP automatically in under 1 minute, with no manual intervention.

No overselling, and no customers lost to "sorry, it is no longer available" calls.
Prices synced without mistakes
Scheduled promotions appear exactly on time, with the right prices, on the right products.
Higher customer satisfaction
Fast confirmations, AWBs shown immediately, order status in real time.

Per product, category and channel, so decisions rest on real data, not on reports that are 30 days old.
Operating costs -20 / -40%
Fewer manual operators, less parallel software.
Scalability without proportional headcount
From 100 to 1000 orders a day without doubling your operations team.
The Magento - SeniorERP integration implementation process
A structured process in 5 stages, predictable in time and budget. As a Magento agency experienced in this type of project, we have refined the methodology to remove technical surprises.
Audit and discovery
1-2 weeksWe take stock of the versions, current flows and existing integrations. A joint workshop with your team on requirements and edge cases.
Specifications and mapping
1 weekA specification document with field-to-field mapping. It becomes the contractual basis of the project.
Connector development
2-3 weeksWe configure the connector, build the endpoints and do custom Magento development where needed.
Testing and UAT
1-2 weeksEnd-to-end testing with real data on staging, validation with your team, training. We sign off a UAT report.
Go-live and hypercare
1 weekWeekend cutover, intensive monitoring for 5-7 days, quick adjustments and support for your users.
What Magento 2 integration with SeniorERP costs
The cost of the integration cannot honestly be shown as a catalogue price. Every implementation is specific: we work on your SeniorERP instance, with its own particular configuration, views, warehouses and API version. Two clients who look identical can end up with implementation scopes that differ by 30-50% because of these particularities.
So that the quote is accurate, neither underestimated nor overpriced, we build every proposal after a discovery call in which we get an in-depth understanding of:
- The configuration of your SeniorERP instance: the version, the views, the warehouse structure, how price lists are linked to warehouses, stock extraction per batch.
- The specifics of your business: B2C / B2B / mixed, tier pricing, credit limits, CUI validation, multi-delivery.
- The volume and complexity of the catalogue: number of SKUs, attributes, variants, multi-store.
- Optional advanced requirements: batch management with expiry dates, order change sync, loyalty programme, large order control.
- Adjacent integrations: couriers, marketplace (eMAG), ANAF e-Factura, payments, an existing loyalty module.
What you get after discovery
After a 1-2 hour meeting and 2-3 days of analysis, we come back with a detailed quote broken down by component, with a firm implementation deadline and a clearly defined scope, including the terms for post go-live maintenance (optional). For the total investment in a Magento store, see also the article.
What the integration requires from you
An ERP integration project is not a "turnkey" delivery that you wait for passively. It is a collaboration in which your team plays an active role. Below are your typical responsibilities, so you can plan resources before the start.
Project champion
A decision-maker, allocated 5-10 hours a week. Answers questions, validates decisions, unblocks access.
Discovery workshops
Your team (operations, sales, IT, finance) takes part in 3-4 sessions of 2-3 hours each in the first 2 weeks.
Technical access
Magento admin credentials, the SeniorERP API key, server access and access to the Magento staging environment.
SeniorERP technical confirmations
How price lists are linked to warehouses, stock/batch extraction per warehouse, the API documentation.
UAT with real operators
Testing with your team in weeks 6-7, on real business scenarios.
Internal training
1-2 days to reskill your team on the new flows and the new Magento admin.
Timely decisions
Answers to clarification requests within 24-48h. Delayed decisions are the main reason projects run longer.
Data cleansing
Recommended before the start: duplicate SKUs, customers without a CUI, orphan orders.
Integration maintenance - what it involves after go-live
Maintenance is not mandatory
The integration module keeps working after go-live, without a recurring support contract. You can use the connector exactly as it was delivered, as long as Magento, SeniorERP and the tax legislation stay as they are today.
It is, however, strongly recommended, for a simple reason: none of the three stays as it is for very long. Magento is updated frequently, SeniorERP updates its modules and APIs, and tax legislation in Romania changes regularly (e-Factura, e-Transport, SAF-T, RO e-TVA, VAT rate changes). Without maintenance, an integration that works flawlessly today can run into problems in 6-12 months, and the reactive cost is almost always higher than the proactive one.
- Proactive monitoring of the sync flows (queues, errors, intermittent API issues).
- Applying Magento security patches and connector updates.
- Adapting to legislative changes (e-Factura, SAF-T, VAT changes).
- Support for new edge cases that come up in the first year of use.
- Incident response under the contractual SLA (guaranteed response time).
The cost of maintenance varies with the package you choose and is discussed separately. Full details are on the Magento maintenance page, and if you want to understand how we work after launch, read the article on what Magento maintenance involves.
